This interactive session will provide new K–5 teachers with an overview of the elementary assessments they will administer throughout the school year. Participants will learn the purpose and schedule of each assessment, review key administration procedures, and practice using assessment results to determine students’ instructional needs.
Based on key ideas from Julia Lindsey’s Small Groups, Big Results, participants will explore how to use student skill deficits to choose targeted instructional routines, plan concise small group lessons, and monitor student progress. Teachers will leave with ready-to-use routines and a simple planning process they can apply during DRI or small group instruction.
